DESCRIPTION:Dating violence is more common than people think\, especially among teens and young adults: In the U.S.\, one in three teens experience physical\, sexual\, or emotional abuse when in a relationship. \nTo bring awareness to the ways we “normalize” dating violence in our day-to-day lives and conversations\, HopeWorks’ Youth Leadership Cohort is proud to present: \nDenormalizing Rape Culture: A Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Event. \nThis teen-led workshop is designed to inspire and empower young people to foster healthy\, respectful\, supportive\, fun\, and safe relationships. Through interactive activity and discussion\, participants will explore what is means to build connections based on open communication\, trust\, respect\, and equality – while also identifying and addressing signs of unhealthy and abusive behaviors. DESCRIPTION:Addressing the Long-Term Health Effects of Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence \nHopeWorks invites survivors\, care providers\, and health professionals to join our Health Advisory Board—a collaborative space to raise awareness\, share resources\, and improve care for those impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence. \nResearch shows that physical\, sexual\, and psychological violence can have long-term effects on health\, including chronic pain\, cardiovascular disease\, arthritis\, diabetes\, anxiety\, depression\, and more.
