People who have experienced abuse or other trauma have a higher risk of developing a mental health condition\, including depression\, anxiety\, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). \nDuring Thriving Together\, survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence explore ways to live well\, be informed self-advocates\, & address stigma and the health disparities that can challenge our wellbeing. \nAll meetings will be held virtually\, using Zoom\, unless noted otherwise! DESCRIPTION:Information Session — The Voices of Survival: A Chorus of Hope\nTwo information sessions are available. Please register for only one.\nSunday\, September 29 | 3pm to 4pm ET | Zoom\nSaturday\, October 26 | 1pm to 2pm ET | Zoom \nHopeWorks welcomes survivors to join the Voices of Survival Chorus\, a multi-genre troupe of singers\, poets\, and spoken word artists! No experience is needed for choir members. \nA new arts-based program\, the Voices of Survival Chorus integrates healing with raising awareness about sexual and intimate partner violence. The Chorus will perform intersectional stories of thriving\, joy\, oppression\, and revolution. \nThe Chorus will first perform at HopeWorks’ We ARE the Light event in April 2025 and will then continue to be available for events throughout Howard County. \nIf you are a survivor of sexual and/or intimate partner violence (including childhood sexual abuse)\, and you are ready for an exciting adventure of community\, advocacy and empowerment\, register to attend an information session.  \nThis project is made possible by the Howard County Arts Council through a grant from Howard County Government. \nClick here to register!
