SUMMARY:Health Advisory Board Meeting
DESCRIPTION:  \nHealth Advisory Board\nAddressing the long-term health effects of sexual and intimate partner violence \nResearch has shown that physical\, sexual\, and psychological violence can have lasting effects on an individual’s health\, including increased risk for chronic pain\, cardiovascular disease\, diabetes\, anxiety\, depression\, and gastrointestinal disorders. \nHopeWorks’ Health Advisory Board brings together survivors\, healthcare professionals\, care providers\, and community partners to address the long-term health impacts of sexual and intimate partner violence. Members serve as resources of support and information for HopeWorks’ Survivors’ Health Project and work together to raise awareness\, educate healthcare providers and the community\, improve care\, and increase access to a broad range of treatment and support services. \nThe Health Advisory Board is open to survivors\, care providers\, community partners\, and health practitioners across a range of disciplines\, including acupuncture\, internal medicine\, rheumatology\, trauma nursing\, physical therapy\, and mental health. \n2026–2027 Meeting Dates\nHealth Advisory Board meetings are held virtually from 12:00–1:00 p.m. on the following dates: \nFriday\, September 18\, 2026 \nFriday\, January 15\, 2027 \nFriday\, May 14\, 2027 \nAll sessions are virtual. \nFor more information or to learn how to get involved\, please contact Tori Rain\, MSN\, RN\, Director of Community Health Services\, at train@HopeWorksOfHC.org or (410) 997-0304\, ext. 7742.
