CALL 24-Hour Helpline: (410) 997-2272
We work to address the chronic pain conditions experienced by survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.
Research has shown that physical, sexual, and psychological violence is linked to long-term health problems, including chronic pain conditions, like arthritis, fibromyalgia, lower back pain, migraines and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Health Advisory Board members serve as resources of support and information as we work to address these long-term health effects by sharing knowledge, improving care, and increasing access to a broad range of treatment modalities.
Members of the Board include survivors, family members, acupuncturist, internists, rheumatologists, nurses, nutritionists, trauma nurses, physical therapists, and mental health practitioners.
For more information or to register for our next meeting, email Vanita Leatherwood, the Director of Community Engagement, at vleatherwood@hopeworksofhc.org.
