Outreach & Awareness

Building Connections

It takes an entire community to make change happen. By increasing community conversations on topics like equity, healthy relationships, social justice, personal power, healthy masculinity and affirming space, we can set the groundwork for building connections, individual and community transformations, and the skills to move from bystander to change agent.

If you would like to bring a HopeWorks representative to your community fair or event, or would like to discuss how your organization can work in partnership with HopeWorks, please contact the Community Engagement Department at outreach@hopeworksofhc.org or call (410) 997-0304.

HopeWorks in the Community

HopeWorks in the Community is a 90-minute presentation outlining the mission, vision and services of the agency. At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to: articulate the mission of HopeWorks, identify the seven service areas of the agency, and engage in a discussion about five important facts related to the prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence. To schedule a presentation for your organization or group please contact the Community Engagement Department at outreach@hopeworksofhc.org or call (410) 997-0304.

I Can I Will Create Peace

In this interactive workshop participants talk about all the things – big and small – that they can do to create peaceful, healthy relationships and communities. Then each participant creates an inspiring 4×4 violence prevention plaque to take home as a keepsake. This workshop is appropriate for people aged eight and older. To schedule a workshop for your organization or group please contact the Community Engagement Department at outreach@hopeworksofhc.org or call (410) 997-0304.

Survivor Speakers Bureau

HopeWorks’ Survivors Speakers Bureau presents the varied voices and real-life experience of those who have survived sexual, domestic, and dating violence. Members of our Speakers Bureau are telling their truth, giving voice to the pain and suffering, as well as to the strength, resilience, and recovery that many survivors experience.

For details on how to request a speaker for your event please contact the Community Engagement Department at outreach@hopeworksofhc.org or call (410) 997-0304.
