However, from poverty to health-care disparities, families are facing increasing challenges to this vision of peace. During HopeWorks’ “Family Care Events” we explore and address issues that affect the physical and emotional wellbeing of households and contribute to the root causes of violence – in all its forms.
Please plan to join us on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm for our first Family Care event: Preparing for Pregnancy & Parenthood.
This workshop is appropriate for pregnant people, those considering pregnancy, parents, family members and professionals who work with people during the perinatal period.
Preparing for Pregnancy & Parenthood will be facilitated by Megan Williams, MSPH, a member of HopeWorks’ Health Advisory Board and founder of Peaceful Perinatal.

About Peaceful Perinatal
Megan Williams is a certified lactation counselor, educator, child health researcher, and advocate for trauma survivors. She cares deeply about perinatal care, LGBTQ+ health, trauma healing, and reproductive justice.
Megan is the first lactation professional to be certified to offer the Survivor Moms’ Companion (SMC) program and is the only SMC tutor in the DC/Maryland area. Her SMC program is available through HopeWorks’ Survivors Health Project.
