Addressing the Long-Term Health Effects of Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence
HopeWorks invites survivors, care providers, and health professionals to join our Health Advisory Board—a collaborative space to raise awareness, share resources, and improve care for those impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence.
Research shows that physical, sexual, and psychological violence can have long-term effects on health, including chronic pain, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, diabetes, anxiety, depression, and more. The Health Advisory Board supports The Survivors’ Health Project by fostering connections between survivors and a wide range of treatment providers, including acupuncturists, internists, trauma nurses, physical therapists, mental health practitioners, and community partners.
