Preservation Circle

September 10, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

People who have suffered abuse, whether as a child or as an adult, often report a wide range of chronic pain issues.

Research has shown that physical, sexual, and psychological violence are linked to long-term health problems, including low back pain, musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, IBS, and chronic migraines.

Join us for a special Preservation Circle to learn why survivors of violence so often live in pain–years after the trauma had ended. We will discuss:

  • The long-term health effects of experiencing sexual and intimate partner violence
  • The role of health disparities
  • Things that help: treatments, self-care, and spirit care
