Music as Medicine—featuring musician Pamela Henry
HopeWorks invites survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence (including childhood sexual abuse) to join us for Preservation!
Musician Pamela Henry will lead this survivor-centered group in exploring music’s connection to the brain, the instrument of our voice, a ukulele meditation, and more.
Pamela Henry says, “Music is the way I unconsciously begin every day and end every night. A word or a phrase may spark the memory of a tune or a jingle!
“Humming a tune, singing a song, or playing an instrument—music is a tool I use to change my mood. The ukulele, like the sounds of a wind chime, is soothing when I’m sad, pleasantly distracting when I’m in pain, and joyous when I’m happy! Come explore with me for music as medicine!”
